The Challenge

Whether you are a teacher, administrator, or policymaker, you want to increase student achievement. You know that teachers are essential to student success. Yet too often teachers—and therefore students—are unsuccessful, despite everyone’s best efforts. Meanwhile, strong teachers are leaving the profession and others are staying but merely “going through the motions.” Sadly, too many of the solutions proposed for these challenges are counter to what we know is right for the children and adults who spend their days in schools.

The Solution

Partner with me, and together we will:

  • Support teacher learning in ways that make a difference.
  • Create learning environments that retain strong teachers.
  • Ensure that professional learning teams focus on learning together.
  • Define roles for those who will support teacher learning.
  • Create environments and expectations for successful learning communities.
  • Develop processes for collecting evidence and documenting effects of teacher learning
